Refunds and cancellations
When you can get money back and how cancellation works.
3 Jun 2026 · 3 min read
Plans change, projects end, and sometimes a server simply is not the right fit. This post explains when you can get money back, how cancellation works in the panel, and what happens to your data afterwards. We have tried to keep the rules short and predictable.
Cancelling a service
You can cancel any service yourself, without contacting support:
- Open the service and go to the Billing tab.
- Press Cancel service.
- Choose when the cancellation should take effect: at the end of the billing period or immediately.
- Optionally tell us why. It is not required, but it genuinely helps us improve.
Most people pick end of billing period. The server keeps running until the date you already paid for, then it is removed. If you change your mind before that date, you can withdraw the cancellation from the same tab.
Tip: Back up everything before the cancellation date. Once a service is removed, the disk is wiped and our team cannot recover it.
When you can get a refund
| Situation | Refund | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| First order, cancelled within the money back window | Yes, full amount | Original payment method |
| Service unusable because of a fault on our side | Yes, pro rata for the downtime | Account credit or original method |
| Cancellation mid period, no fault | No refund, runs until period end | Not applicable |
| Unused account credit | On request | Original payment method |
| Dedicated servers and custom hardware | Only for faults on our side | Reviewed case by case |
The money back window and exact conditions are listed in our Terms of Service, which always take precedence over this article.
Things that are not refundable
A few items cannot be refunded because they cost us money upfront or are tied to third parties:
- Domain registrations and renewals.
- Software licenses, such as Windows Server or control panel licenses, once activated.
- Setup fees on dedicated servers.
- Services suspended for abuse or a breach of the Acceptable Use Policy.
Requesting a refund
If your situation qualifies, go to Support, press Open ticket and choose the billing department. Please include:
- The service name or invoice number.
- A short description of why you are requesting the refund.
- Whether you prefer the money on your original payment method or as account credit.
Credit refunds are instant once approved. Refunds to cards or PayPal are sent the same day but can take several business days to appear, depending on your bank.
What happens to your data
When a service is removed:
- The server is powered off.
- The disk is securely wiped.
- IP addresses return to our pool and their reverse DNS is reset.
- Invoices and billing history stay in your account for your records.
Downgrading instead of leaving
If the reason you are cancelling is cost, it might be worth moving to a smaller plan instead. Your data, IPs and setup stay in place. Open a ticket and we will tell you which plans your current disk usage fits into.
